Special

Around special needs students who slowly react
To what's being said I stand back
To think what if I had a child like that
As I stare, the background fades to black
Me being their parent always being attacked
On the defensive cutting my children slack
Even though privileged with benefits with a knack
For making life easier, nobody will give a jack
About their well being or feelings attached
To their outsides being judged and smacked
Down and belittled but I help them stay on track
While most laugh and tease behind their back
Because everyday to be exact
I wonder "What if my child came out like that?"
