That's just great
All week long they keep coming
Thrown in front of me
Typical
Most don't even have representation
Typical
Gives me a headache
Too many of the same stories
All of them
Look the same
Talk the same
Walk the same
Even their families and friends look the same
When friends and family speak on their loved ones behalf
Even in their defense
They all sound the same
"Such and such is a good kid.
He gets into some trouble here and there
But he is a good kid
He likes sports too"
And the rest I hear is
"Blah, blah, blah, and blah"
Another redundant sob story
A quick sentence I give
Whatever it takes to make process go faster
Maybe my headache will go away as well
Every time
And I mean every time
Before I hit the gavel
I think
"Another black kid"
